New research has shown that frequent smoking of marijuana is directly connected to more than 75% of cases of dental diseases, and to persons younger than 32-years.

Inflammation of the tooth gum is the most common cause of tooth destruction, after paradental cause. 

The team of scientists from Otago University, King's College London, and North Carolina universities have followed the dental health of 1,000 people born in Dunedin, New Zealand, between 1972 and 1973.
  
Diseases of teeth and paradental disease earlier often were associated with cigarettes, but this is the first time that is explored the relation with smoking marijuana. 
The study was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, after researches that were been made on marijuana related to mental problems and lung disease.
